Merry….or, not so much.

The whole family has been fighting a cold for the last week and a half, so it hasn’t exactly seemed like the most wonderful time of the year…. However I do have a new card for today that was inspired by recent Case This Sketch and Dynamic Duos challenges:

merry, detail

I love the effect of using two bold colors on a white background. The doily and lace add a wintery feel and a simple sentiment rounds out the card.  I cut the word “Merry” using my Silhouette Cameo using the font AZ Claire. I love this font because it has a nice, scripted look but is bulky enough to cut easily without tearing.

I also added a little shimmer to the cut sentiment using embossing powder. You can get a better idea in this photo:

Here’s hoping for better health in the days to come!
