Hopefully the card for today will inspire thoughts of Springtime and warmer temperatures on this bitterly cold, 11-degree day here in Central Massachusetts! At least, that’s my hope!
I used my Silhouette Cameo’s print and cut feature to lay out the text and colorize it. I have never tried to use the color fill feature for text in the Silhouette software, but in this case I’m so glad that I did – with just a few clicks, I was able to create a shaded watercolor look which is just what I was going for!
Based on her own tip, I used Kerri Bradford’s Friday Freebie/Funky Leaf digital download shape to create a tree, and watercolored a paper backing that I glued behind it. I hole punched some color coordinating dots and “enameled” them using Glossy Accents medium. Finally I popped out the top layer card and tree on some foam squares and rounded two of the four corners.
The design of this card was inspired by the tree shape and sentiment sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #61:
and by the soft taupe, pink, and light green colors from the Cure For The Monday Blues Challenge #2:
I am entering this card into both of these challenges.
Here’s hoping for brighter days, indeed! And soon!!!
