Brilliant.

Mmmm…sequins, glitter, watercolor yumminess.  Pink, orange, aqua, and green happiness.  I had such a great time making this card!

I have become so enamored by cards from the likes of Aga and others that I just had to try and replicate their dreamy, glistening wonderful-ness that I admire. I don’t think I’m there yet, but I’ve really been working at stretching my creative muscles as of late, and I think that’s a good place to be!

I began with the inspiration image from this week’s Fusion Card Challenge:

I love the pale pink background paired with the the brightly colored butterflies.

The base layer of the card is painted with a combination of pink and orange pastel watercolors. I die cut some arrows using my Cameo….heat embossed some stamped splotches….painted some glossy accents medium and covered with glitter….and glued on some sequins.

The sentiment….is a font! Yep. Just typed, printed and cut. I know. Are you loving it as much as I am?!

I am a CTS Guest Designer this week!

I am so happy to announce that I am *Guest Designer* this week over at Case This Sketch! Weeee!!! I’d like to offer a BIG shout out to Chrissy from CTS who invited me – this is my VERY first guest designer spot and I couldn’t be more excited!

Here is my card:

crossmyheartretake01

I started my design with the criss-cross of the arrows. I knew I wanted to incorporate a heart and/or a Valentine’s sentiment since this Friday is, after all, the big day of love!

I used two slightly different shades of embroidery floss to stitch the arrows onto the die cut heart, vellum overlay, and card.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to lay out the sentiment, and then used the fill feature to create a yummy pink and orange blend to the text.

Finally I glued some gold sequins for a little bling and also for the fact that I am really loving the pink/orange/gold color combination in projects that I’m seeing out there right now.
