Watercolor + Embossed Thank You cards

After taking a longer break than I would have liked from the blog due to illness, computer issues, other projects…(is March really already half over?!)…I am back today with some watercolor Thank You’s:

I was inspired by Dawn McVey’s post and video here and her use of a single paint color to make a beautiful card.

I heat embossed the sentiment onto watercolor paper first, then painted over with watercolor paint.  Any paint that collected onto the embossing I was able to easily wipe away with a wet Q-tip.  After fully drying, I added a stitched border and some stamped flowers to both cards.  I love how the large, bold ‘Thank You’ sentiment pops on the watercolor background.
