Hot Air Balloon ‘Hello’

The color purple + a lovely sketch = a very fun card!

I cut the hot air balloon shape using my Silhouette Cameo, and wanted to leave a lot of open space in between to try and keep it ‘Clean And Simple.’

The banner is a store-bought embellishment that I trimmed to size, and the sentiment ‘Hello’ is stamped and embossed on the bottom panel.

The cloud die cuts were purchased in the same “shape” as the hot air balloon, and the cloud stamp was a freebie from Ellen Hutson that I received as a ‘Thank You’ for a Black Friday purchase (Score!)

The die cut clouds are heat embossed and the background cloud is stamped with purple ink.

One thing I can say for sure about this card is it has some serious DIMENSION. I popped out the second layer background card along with the hot air balloon pieces and the clouds.  The foam adhesive was definitely calling my name on this one…

I had a ball making this card! (Such a challenge in the beginning on how to use that purple…) But I really like how it ultimately all came together!

I am so excited to be playing over at CASology Week 80 and Freshly Made Sketches 121!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! It’s my husband’s birthday on Sunday, and we are planning on partying for the Super Bowl, too! (However, I have to admit it – I’m not a huge football fan and I really only like watching for the commercials!)

Good morning. I have a new card for today –

I loved making this card. It was so fun to design. I started with the background sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #109:

and incorporated the leaf and color inspiration from Moxie Fab World’s Tuesday Trigger Enthralled With Fall challenge:

Here’s a closer look at the leaves of the card:

The awesome font I used was Pea Mily Mix.  I used the Silhouette Cameo’s print and cut feature to lay out the text and cut the exact sized shape that I needed. In fact, I used the Cameo this time to cut all of the background squares and rectangles. It was so easy to lay out the design in my Silhouette Studio software and size the shapes exactly how I needed them. I scored one line down the center of each leaf using a bone folder to create the effect of veins. I gently bent the sides to give some depth. I topped the card off with an upcycled button and some jute twine bows.

Unfortunately, I am a bit late at getting this post up, so I’m only going to be entering the Freshly Made Sketch challenge this week.

After today, I’ll be featuring projects for friends and family for Christmas! I look forward to sharing those here as I get them done!
